New Instructional Materials Processing Center (IMPC) in Edgewood

As our communities continue to expand, the amount of available storage space in our classrooms seems to be shrinking. Thankfully, PSD Teachers and staff can send any shared materials not currently being used to our Instructional Materials Processing Center (IMPC) in Edgewood. This center provides a safe and secure location for these materials to be stored until they are needed again. It is a great way to help keep our classrooms organized and free up space for other essential items.

Our current IMPC is busting at the seams with books and boxes piled in every available space. Fortunately, a play shed once used for Hilltop Elementary is still onsite, and our team had an excellent idea to convert the play shed into a second warehouse. Reusing the old play shed decreased the monetary impact on our capital funds. It will bring over 2100 square feet of additional storage space to create a safer and more efficient solution for storing our shared classroom materials.

We stopped by Thursday, and the crews from Boush Moving & Storage and Bozco Construction LLC were onsite, making construction magic happen! Teams were assembling shelves, preparing the driveway for concrete, and putting up the new corrugated metal siding. The corrugated metal siding is also a plus; it is more durable than traditional siding and designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, resulting in long-term operational cost savings for this new facility.
