We are embracing the chill at -12 degrees in our warehouse! Exciting news—our dedicated crews worked diligently over the winter break to install a new freezer door at our food storage warehouse on South Hill.
The original door, in service since the late 1990s, had surpassed its useful life and had become a safety risk, with ice buildup requiring daily chiseling and resulting in a warmer temperature within the freezer. The installation of our colossal new door marks a significant upgrade, not only in size but also in efficiency.
Beyond its grandeur, this behemoth door is now effectively maintaining the ideal temperature in our district's freezer, ensuring that our food remains perfectly chilled. The recently installed door boasts an innovative addition—an "air curtain" positioned above it. Upon opening, this air curtain activates, directing airflow from the door's top to the floor, forming a protective "curtain" that retains cold air within the freezer and prevents warm air from entering. Additionally, the new door is actively promoting energy conservation through its heightened efficiency during operation. Kudos to our team for successfully completing this substantial project and making strides towards a more efficient and reliable warehouse operation!
