Major Pool Refurbishment Underway at Puyallup High: Enhancing Safety and Efficiency

The old sand filters, pumps and motors are out, and the flooring is prepped for the new equipment installation.

Upgrades are moving along swimmingly at the Puyallup High School Aquatic Center. The old sand filters, pumps and motors are out, and the flooring is prepped for the new equipment installation.

Thank you, voters. On Tuesday, June 17th, our Capital Projects team embarked on a major refurbishment of the Puyallup High School pool. This upgrade will enhance efficiency, safety, and longevity.

The planned improvements include:

Replacement of Pumps, Motors, and Drives

  • Pumps: Our old, inefficient pumps will be replaced with new, high-efficiency models. These will ensure better water circulation, leading to cleaner and safer swimming conditions.
  •  Motors: Upgrading to modern, energy-efficient motors will enhance performance while reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
  • Drives: Installing new drives will provide better control over motor speed and flow rates, resulting in a more stable and reliable pool environment.

Installation of New Sand Filters

Our existing sand filters, essential for maintaining water clarity and hygiene, will be replaced. The new filters will improve the effectiveness of our water purification process, ensuring consistently high-water quality standards.

We are excited about these upgrades and the positive impact they will have on our school community. Thank you, voters, for your support in providing the necessary upgrades to our facilities for our students. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress!
