Fielding a Better Season at Emerald Ridge High School

Baseball Field Improvements at Emerald Ridge High School

Improvements to the Emerald Ridge High School baseball field are now complete, just in time for the spring baseball season and upcoming community youth baseball use.

Funded by the 2024 Capital Levy, the project focused on improving field conditions in high use infield areas between the dugouts and along the first and third base lines. Crews removed existing soil, imported new topsoil, and installed new sod that ties back into the outfield grass. French drains were also installed in front of each dugout to help divert water away from the field.

These upgrades address long standing issues with standing water and muddy conditions that previously limited field access. The improvements allow the field to drain more effectively after rain, reduce maintenance disruptions, and provide a more consistent and safer playing surface.

This project supports student athletics and community use by improving the reliability, safety, and year-round usability of school facilities.
