As we near the end of summer, the Puyallup School District is bustling with activity, and many exciting projects are well underway. Thanks to the strong support from our community in passing the 2024 Capital Levy, we're excited to share the significant upgrades to the technology infrastructure at Maplewood and Mountain View Elementary Schools.
These upgrades include a complete overhaul of the network systems at both schools, addressing a critical need for increased bandwidth and reliable internet access. In today’s education landscape, a robust technology infrastructure is essential for both teaching and learning. The improvements to network cabling ensure that every classroom benefits from faster and more reliable internet speeds, allowing students to access digital resources without interruption. This enhancement supports a wide range of learning activities, from online research and interactive lessons to virtual collaboration, thereby enriching the educational experience.
Technology improvements, which account for 18 percent of the 2024 Capital Levy, encompass network cabling upgrades, enhanced internet access, and classroom technology enhancements across the district. These upgrades will have a far-reaching impact, benefiting most of our schools.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the voters for approving the 2024 Capital Levy. Your support is making it possible for us to implement 906 improvements districtwide, ensuring that our schools remain places where every student can thrive.
