Community Meeting: Sparks Stadium Parking Lot Improvements

What: Expand the on-site parking lot by developing the vacant lot (formerly home to portable classroom buildings) into additional parking. The project will increase parking capacity from 158 to 209 stalls. It will include landscaping, pervious pavement, and additional parking lot lighting.
An existing driveway entrance on 7th Ave SW will be widened to improve the turning radius. The city also requires improving a portion of the alley to the west of the proposed parking area.
There is no expansion of the stadium proposed.
Why: One of the 906 district-wide projects included in the February 2024 capital levy approved by voters. The project will provide a net increase of 51 parking stalls.
When: Construction is scheduled for summer 2025, pending city permit approval.
