Carson and Zeiger Elementary Playground and Site Improvements Update

Capital Levy improvement: Walking path at Carson Elementary around the grass playfield.

Families may notice a recent improvement already completed at Carson and Zeiger Elementaries. The paved walking path around the field is now finished and open for use.

This work is part of the voter approved 2024 Capital Levy and represents one of several planned playground and site improvements at Carson Elementary. Completing the walking path ahead of schedule improves access around the playground area and supports safer, more reliable movement for students and staff, particularly during wet winter months.

The improvement also strengthens accessibility for students of all abilities by providing a stable, accessible surface that supports mobility, supervision, and inclusive use of the playground space. The goal is straightforward and practical. Fewer muddy shoes, fewer wet socks, and more consistent, year-round access for all students.

Additional playground improvements are scheduled for this summer. Planned work includes replacing the existing Kompan play structure, installing new synthetic play fall grass, and sealing and repainting game lines on the hard play surface. These upgrades are designed to improve the safety, durability, and long-term usability of the playground.

Thank you to our voters and school communities for your continued support of capital improvements that maintain and enhance safe, accessible learning and play spaces across the district.
