Capital Project Crews Dive into Siding Replacement at Carson Elementary as Summer Work Heats Up

Capital Projects crew removing siding at Carson Elementary

With students officially on summer break, construction crews rolled up their sleeves at Carson Elementary. The full replacement of the school’s original siding is now underway, a much-needed project after nearly 20 years of weather wear and tear.

The team has already removed the siding from the main entrance around the courtyard, and they’ll continue working through the coming weeks to prepare the building for the new siding materials. This critical repair includes new siding, flashing, underlayment, and fresh paint to reseal the building envelope for long-term protection. An envelope consultant will oversee the work to ensure high-quality standards for moisture control and energy efficiency.

Reminder: Our school play yards are temporarily closed this summer to ensure the safety of construction crews and community members while heavy equipment and materials are in use.

This work is funded by the 2024 voter-approved Capital Levy and reflects the district’s forward-thinking approach to school maintenance. By addressing potential water damage and structural issues now, we are avoiding more costly repairs down the road and protecting the community’s investment for the long term.
