Building Protection in Progress at Carson Elementary

Crews add new siding to Carson Elementary School

It’s out with the old and in with the new at Carson Elementary. Since our last update, construction crews have made steady progress on the building’s exterior. The aging lap siding, cracked, failing, and no longer providing adequate protection, has been fully removed. Now, crews are moving forward with installation of brand-new siding to help protect the building envelope for years to come.

This comprehensive project includes new siding, flashing, underlayment, sealants, and a fresh coat of paint. Together, these upgrades will shield the school from the region’s wet climate and improve overall energy efficiency. An envelope consultant continues to guide the work, ensuring the installation meets high standards for durability and moisture control.

As a reminder, the school’s play yards remain temporarily closed for safety while construction is underway.

This project is made possible by the 2024 voter-approved Capital Levy, a critical investment in protecting the condition and value of our school buildings. By acting now, the district is preventing larger, more expensive repairs in the future and maintaining safe, functional spaces for students and staff.

Thank you to our community for your continued support.
