Big Changes Underway at Meeker Elementary

Meeker Elementary Flooring Repair

Students might be on summer break, but our maintenance crews are already working hard. A major project at Meeker Elementary School is currently underway as part of the 2024 Capital Levy improvements.

Today, our crews are on-site removing the old baseboards and layers of linoleum in the hallways. This is a significant task, as Meeker Elementary's floors have multiple layers accumulated over the years. Thanks to the support from our community and voters, these outdated, cracked, damaged, and worn flooring will be replaced with new linoleum.

Linoleum is considered a healthier and more environmentally friendly product because it contains no vinyl. Another advantage is that it doesn't require waxing, reducing maintenance costs. This upgrade will improve the school's appearance and ensure a safer environment for students when they return in the fall.

Our team is using this summer break to complete these essential improvements. The work being done reflects the community's commitment to providing the best possible facilities for our students.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance Meeker Elementary.
