Students and staff at Ballou Junior High can now count on quicker, more reliable access to warm water, thanks to a recent facility upgrade made possible by voter-approved capital levy funding. Over Spring Break, the district’s Capital Projects team successfully replaced the school’s aging water heater with a new, high-efficiency, Energy Star-certified tank operating at 96% efficiency.
This upgrade is part of the Puyallup School District’s ongoing efforts to maintain and modernize school infrastructure. As part of a districtwide plan, outdated water heaters are being replaced systematically to improve building performance, reduce energy consumption, and increase reliability.
“We’re grateful for the team’s hard work and expertise in completing this installation,” said Marlene Anglemyer, Assistant Director of Project Management. “These upgrades not only enhance daily comfort for students and staff, but they also demonstrate responsible use of public resources.”
Thanks to the continued support of local voters, investments like this help extend the life of school buildings while creating safer, healthier, and more efficient learning environments across the district.
