Academic Eligibility Standards for Athletes

Overvew

Students who want to participate and/or compete in sports or selected extracurricular activities (see table below) in fall of each new school year must pass a minimum of five classes and maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average during the previous spring semester.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) sports and activities affected by these eligibility standards are shown in the following lists:

Club sports, such as lacrosse or community baseball/softball or soccer, are not sanctioned by the school district, South Puget Sound League, or the WIAA, and are not required to meet the academic eligibility standards for athletics or be cleared by the school.
